Chef with knowledge of preparing Nigerian local food and African dishes.

Chef plan menus and prepare in the preparation of African food and beverages in the restaurants and perform various cleaning, fetching and carrying tasks.
Entry requirements of this job:
There are no formal academic entry requirements, training is provided off and on-the-job in addition to experience in making African local food.
Tasks required by this job include:

  • examines foodstuffs from suppliers to ensure quality
  • carries meat, vegetables and other foodstuffs from delivery van to storeroom and from storeroom to kitchen
  • plans menus, cleans, and prepares food for cooks using hand and machine
  • monitors the quality of finished dishes
  • supervises, organises, and manages the whole kitchen activities
  • ensures relevant hygiene, health and safety standards are maintained within the kitchen
  • plans and co-ordinates kitchen work such as fetching, clearing and cleaning of equipment and utensils
